UNFPA in Georgia

UNFPA Office in Georgia was established in 1999, though UNFPA assistance began in 1993. The first Country Programme in Georgia will commence in 2006.

 In Georgia UNFPA has been providing assistance to improve reproductive health particularly supporting efforts to meet the needs of young people. The gender perspective has been a key feature in all UNFPA projects related with reproductive health and young people. UNFPA has also provided assistance in data collection, use and dissemination for development in Georgia.
