HACI ÖMER SABANCI FUNDATION ANNOUNCES ITS PARTNERSHIP IN THE UN JOINT PROGRAMME AT A MEETING WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF INTERIOR MINISTER ABDÜLKADIR AKSU AND GÜLER SABANCI

 

(19/06/2006, Ankara, United Nations) Haci Ömer Sabanci Fundation (VAKSA), will become a partner of United Nations Joint Programme, one of the most comprehensive UN development projects implemented in Turkey.

VAKSA serves the public and youth, contributes to the social and cultural development of Turkey and continues to cooperate with UN to make a difference in the lives of people.

First review meeting of the UN Joint Programme to Protect and Promote the Human Rights of Women and Girls will convene in Ankara on June 21, 2006, with the participation of representatives from Interior Ministry, governorates, municipalities, NGOs, private sector companies, donor countries and UN officials.

At the meeting which will be attended by Interior Minister Abdülkadir Aksu, Haci Ömer Sabanci Foundation (VAKSA) and Sabanci Holding Chairperson Güler Sabanci will announce VAKSA's participation in the programme, Asst. Prof. Aykan Erdemir of Middle East Technical University will evaluate the public opinion poll results.
