Turkey has made several
reforms to enhance the women's rights and also contributed to the UN gender
projects.
Several successful project conducted by the UN have contributed significantly to
a
better understanding of gender and women's rights issues in Turkey. However, to
achieve a lasting and cumulative result for gender issues, an umbrella programme
was essential.
United Nations Joint Programme (UNJP) has been drafted and implemented with a
view to outline the procedures to bring local governments, NGOs and
private sector representatives together to create projects and a work
environment that will promote women's rights and women's participation in
decision making process.
UNJP will be reformated for implementation accross the
country, after the evaluation of main programme.
