Strengthening Management
of Reproductive Health Services
Project name: TUR/03/01/02-01/P02 Strengthening Management of Reproductive Health services through training of a core number of managers at the central, provincial and district level. Budget: USD 750.000 Timeline: July 2001 – December 2005 What's the situation? Evaluations of Reproductive Health (RH) projects in Turkey have identified Management as a widespread problem in the provision of RH services. What’s our mission? Our mission is to strengthen the management of RH services in Turkey so as to contribute to increased accessibility to integrated and quality RH services. How is UNFPA doing this?
Who are our partners? The Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Mother Child Health and Family Planning How will Turkey benefit? In the short-term, a number of health managers will attend a programme for training which includes strategic management, organizational management, human resource management, logistical management, information systems, personal skills, financing and budgeting to develop their knowledge and skills. In the long term, the preparation of a comprehensive RH management training plan, including a supportive supervision system, will create the necessary infrastructure for integrated and quality RH services in Turkey.
